She leads this project. Apart from organizing the design and implementation of its different applications, she works on user modelling, designs group interaction models and organizes evaluation processes in the classroom.
Ricardo Conejo
Ricardo Conejo is a doctor and Civil Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is actually a Professor on Computer Languages and Systems at the University of Málaga. His research trajectory has tackled, since its earliest times, Artificial Intelligence issues related to automatic diagnosis, multi-agent systems, automatic evaluation and user modelling. He is the author of the SIETTE system (www.siette.org) and numerous research papers published in congresses and specialized journals with high impact indices. In the PATIO Project, he works on user modelling and the necessary mechanisms for the automatic evaluation of developed tasks.
Amparo Ruiz
Amparo Ruiz Sepúlveda was born in Algeciras (Cádiz), graduated in Economic and Business Sciences in June 1986, and became a Doctor on Economics in April 1999 at the University of Málaga. She is a permanent lecturer since 1992 in the Department of Computer Languages and Sciences at the University of Málaga. Her academic and research career includes taking part in National, European and Andalusian (funded by the Andalusian regional government) research projects. The results from these projects have been published in both national and international congresses and prestigious journals. She is currently working on several research lines: multicriteria heuristic searches, data mining, neural networks, and user and educational modelling for learning and teaching environments. Her collaboration in the PATIO Project is aimed at studying the data derived from the activities developed with children and analysing the role played by each of them within the group he/she belong to in order to explain and understand child behaviour.
Mónica Trella
Mónica Trella has been an associate professor in the Department of Computer Languages and Sciences at the University of Málaga since 2003. She is a Computer Science Engineer and she earned her PhD in Computer Science in 2006 from the University of Málaga. During her professional life as a researcher, she has taken part in several national and European projects on intelligent learning systems for the Internet. In the PATIO Project, she works on user modeling of preschoolers and she participates in the design of teaching-learning applications which cover different areas of preschool curriculum. She also participates in the evaluation testes in the classroom.
Javier García-Herreros
Javier García-Herreros is a Computer Science Engineer from the University of Málaga (2008) and a doctorate student in the master’s degree “Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence” in the Department of Computer Languages and Sciences at the University of Málaga, where he has been awarded a research grant. He is currently taking part in the PATIO and TIADA Projects, in which he carries out modelling and representation for user modelling and automatic knowledge evaluation for PATIO’s and SIETTE’s software applications. His research interest is focused on user modelling, automatic evaluation, knowledge representation and ubiquitous computing. For the PATIO Project, he has implemented the software application ESCRIBO, focused on differentiated writing tasks for 5-year-old children. He is also working on the user modelling for several other applications under current development.
Daniel Héctor Stolfi
Daniel Héctor Stolfi Rosso holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Málaga (graduation in 2010). He has worked in the PATIO project developing a program called EDITO. This program is used to work with data about pupils, concepts and multimedia resources. These data are also used by other Patio programs and for the pupil modeling. Nowadays, he is developing the logs processor program in order to analyze the results of the conducted experiments.
Pedro GámezPedro Gámez García holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Málaga (graduation in 2011). He works in the PATIO project developing a program for creating and modifying exercises for the APRENDO platform. By using the graphic interface of this program, users will be able to create new exercises on the basis of the existing types that are available in Aprendo.
José María Rodriguez
Jose María Rodriguez is a graduate from Sciences and an expert in multimedia graphics. He has worked on the development of projects for different companies, as well as in consulting and private teaching. In the PATIO Project, he is in charge of computer graphics and multimedia applications. His tasks of interest include interactive visual communication of graphics and animations.
Aurora Usero
Aurora Usero is a great teacher in childhood and primary education. She is the author of the Letrilandia method published by Edelvides, as well as of other instructive and highly interesting support books for pre-reading stages such as Érase una vez...(Once upon a Time… Pre-reading and Pre-writing Exercise Books), which foster schoolchildren’s reading-writing training and preparation. In the PATIO Project, she acts as consultant and contributes ideas, such as applying her teaching method with technologic aids, as well as the way to apply his skills and teaching manners in the classroom, which are the result of multiple years of dedication and love of children. Her collaboration in the PATIO Project is a privilege and a luxury which can only be paid by manifesting our deepest satisfaction and gratitude for having her with us.
